BALCONY OF THE SACRED VALLEY

Patabamba is a community above the Sacred Valley  at 3800 meter ( 12467 feets) above sea level with amazing views of the Sacred Valley and the river, the mountains make the view and the place even more mystical, it has 200 families the main activity of them is agriculture, it has a nice look out or balcony of the Sacred Valley, the villagers still keep their traditions and festival, the popular drink is Chicha (fermented corn drink).

ONE DAY TOUR

We start early in the morning from the hotel to Patabamba Community,  one hour driving from Cusco, we arrive to the community and the local families will wait for us with traditional music and warm welcome, we will have organic tea, then we walk for for three arounds round trip, on the way we will learn the properties of   some plants, our destination is at the Sacred Valley lookout  with magnificent views of the andean mountains, when we back to the community we have lunch; (pachamanca: is a peruvian traditional dish baked with the aid of hot stones, it is generally made of lamb, chicken, pork, marinated in herbs and spices also we put potatoes, sweet potatoes, plantain), then we have a demonstration of ancient techniques of dying and weaving the traditional textiles of the area. We will have the chance to get some souvenirs from the local families, in the afternoon we drive back home.

TWO DAYS TOUR

PATABAMBA COMMUNITY – HUCHUY QOSQO RUINS – HIKE

First day:

We start early in the morning from our hotel, we drive to the community of Patabamba, stopping at the lookouts to enjoy and take pictures of the scenery, when we arrive to the community the local families will wait for us with warm clothes, then they will introduce themselves,  we will have an aromatic tea, we do our textil activity, where the locals will teach all the properties of the plants, also we will learn how they do they weaving and we can get a souvenirs from them, around noon we have lunch; (pachamanca: is a peruvian traditional dish baked with the aid of hot stones, it is generally made of lamb, chicken, pork, marinated in herbs and spices also we put potatoes, sweet potatoes, plantain), then we will get our rooms to spend the night, later we will have couple hours break, in the afternoon we have lesson of Inka´s Armica (creams preparation from medicinal plants, technique coming from inka´s times), later we have dinner then we can make fire.

Second Day:

We wake up early in the morning one hour later we have breakfast, then we start our hike for three hours to Huchuy Qosqo archeological site, four hours hike, the trail is above the Sacred Valley surrounding  the mountains,the views are incredible, and the archeological site its stunning, where our professional guide will  explain you everything about the place, around noon we will find an amazing place to enjoy our box lunch. Then we will walk down to the Sacred Valley for two hours, at the end of our hike our private transportation will wait for us to go back home.  .
