Inka Trail to Machupicchu

The inka trail to Machupicchu it’s one of the most beautiful hike to the last Inka City, on the way you will have amazing scenery and climb around Machupicchu mountain, this hike is approximately 12 km (7.5 miles).

TWO DAYS TOUR:

FIRST DAY:

We pick you up from your hotel and we go to Ollantaytambo train station to get on board and the train ride will be  1 hour 10 minutes to Chachabamba or km 104 of the Rail Way, at that place we will disembark, to cross a bridge over Urubamba river and go to the checkpoint to show our tickets, permission and original passport. When we have been controled we can prepared before our hike, once we start hiking we will visit very soon one of the small archeological site of the area it´s name is Chachabamba, our professional guide will explain you about that place, then we ascent following the inka trail observing different plants, flowers and orchids, couple hours later we  pass by a gorgeous waterfall and visit Wiñaywayna archeological site with lot of agricultural terraces and amazing views of the Andes, few minutes later we will find a place to  have our box lunch, in the afternoon we keep walking on the inka trail to the Sun Gate knows in our native languagge as Inti Punku; from that place we are going to have the first unforgetable view of Machupicchu, it is a good spot to take lot of picutres. The last part of our hike will be descending to Machupicchu´s citadel where we will find a good area to take the traditional and classic picture of Machupicchu, then we will walk to the checkpoint and bus station to take our bus down to Aguas Calientes town and walk a little bit more to spend the night at a hotel of your preference. In the evening we can go to the hot springs to relax our muscles and then have dinner.

SECOND DAY:

We start early in the morning and walk to the bus station  to take our bus up to Machupicchu, as soon as we arrive there we pass trought the check point showing our tickets and passport, then we do the tour for 2 and half hours with our professional guide, exploring and visiting the most important sites and temples such Temple of the Sun, mother Earth Temple, Sacred Plaza, Agriculutral terraces, Sacred Rock and Temple of Condor,  after we finish the  tour we go  back down again to Aguas Calientes by bus to have lunch and visit a little bit the town  and then take our train back to Ollantaytambo, where our transportation will take you all the way to your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley.
